Last time you saw Brian he was throwing shot put. He's a discus nut, here's some stuff we've been working on over the last few weeks.
If the pictures are hard to read, just click on them. They should open up and become larger.
Mac Wilkins stresses getting left in the back and I want to mimic him. Since I started doing that with my guys I've seen dramatic improvements.
Not much more to say (this is a relatively recent breakdown so I don't disagree too much with myself yet).
Rereading these, it seems like when I'm in doubt about the effect something will have I just say it will hurt separation. I'm a broken record sometimes.
I think I'm being a little anal pointing out the left arm wrapping up. I'm not even sure it's incorrect, it just looked off in the video.
Ok, again I'm anal. I don't think I honestly meant he wasn't trying to speed up but realistically Wolfgang was probably recorded at 20 frames a second and my iphone records at what, 30-35? It's harder to catch motion blur. Knowing me I think I was just pointing that out hoping he didn't realize it (I'm sure he did) to motivate him to move quicker.
Beyond pointing out how much of an asshole I am, if you question the importance of getting left just look at the first picture (top left), that's what is the result of not getting left. It's incredibly common and many people just fix it by trying to go faster and work on trying not to fall out of the circle. How about go with the easier fix of getting left in the back.
