About Me
I'm a young coach stubbornly trying to figure out this wealth of information on my own. I'm based out of Rochester, NY. I coach for a local high school, West Irondequoit High School and a nearby by junior college, Alfred State College.
I'm obsessed with throwing almost to a fault. I've learned over the last year that I've basically given up my social life to allow myself more time to learn about different areas of throwing. I love coaching and feel empty when I'm not doing it for a while (because I sit in the corner rocking back and forth waiting until I can do it again).

When I started coaching I found a wealth of information on beginner level material (how to hold a discus), advanced material (how to get from 20m in shot to 21m), and sanitized ways to handle athletes (someone says "shit" make them do 20 push ups). There was nothing that dealt with the middle ground that coaches spend most of their lives in.
We all pray we'll never get a new athlete (be honest damn it, teaching 20 new kids how to power throw has you considering quitting every year) and we pray that super athlete never leaves (or worse, gets really good the year after he leaves) but realistically we will be stuck with a bunch of guys throwing 30-55ft in shot (average happens to be very common) and have to find a way to get each to improve.
I focus on the methods I've found to make this process go smoother. I try to share my ideas on this blog. Ideas that range from my dislike for running and drills to my obsession with minimalism.
I hope I can help someone who was in the same position I was back in 2008, completely lost, no coaching experience, bad people skills but desperately looking for answers where ever I could find them.
Click on the big ass buttons below to get in touch with me. I'm not much of a small talker but I can't shut up when you get me on a topic I enjoy.
I hope you enjoy what my crappy site has to offer. I promise you it won't be stuff you've heard a million times.
