Weight Throw Analysis [Frame by Frame]

Here's a frame by frame analysis of one of my freshman about 2 months after learning how to throw weight.  For those of you who already know I used Derek Woodske as the comparison.  I saw him throw in 2005, short dude but insanely quick also the first person I found on youtube doing two turns.

So here's some stuff I noticed with his throw.  If you agree, disagree or see something else please let me know in the comment section down below.

The reason I hate the weight is most people aren't strong enough to do it correctly and those who are usually do it incorrectly because it goes farther immediately.  I wish the year ended with indoor season rather than started.  I hate having to have people learn how to turn/throw with the weight then transition them over outdoor to the hammer.

This frame, it's really easy to tell my guy to relax and not fight the ball when he probably benches 185, squats 250 and Woodske does double, if not close to triple those weights.

This is a very common problem.  Too many people just rise with the ball rather than keeping their left bent.

Any radical weight shift change, in any throw, if not done correctly will bring your throw to a halt.  Most people fail at rotational shot, not because they can't spin but because every time they have to shift their weight they are off balance or crashed into the landing of the previous shift.  I'm learning quickly the most important thing in throws is balance and comfort.  Everything follows those two things.

The ball only goes faster if it gets pushed at the right time.  If you miss your chance you are just riding the ball.  Might as well wind and release.

Naturally people will land later on later turns.  I may have had a purpose of pointing this out to him I know sometimes I base things off of perfection knowing people can't get it but hoping they will fix it earlier in the throw so maybe it will be better later on. Or I'm giving myself more credit than I deserve and when I wrote this I was expecting him to be perfect, completely possible, probably wrote it at 4am.

His release all year has been pretty shitty.  It's finally starting to come around in hammer but he would either chase the ball out of the circle when releasing or bail his left arm over his head leaving his right at the front of the circle.  It's been an annoying ride with it because the moment you think he is going to have a good throw he bails the release and you watch it all wither away.

Feel free to share your thought in the comments.  Shy people just email me.  I'd love to hear feedback on this stuff.
